The Long-Legged Myotis Or the Myotis Volans

The bat which makes up about 25% of all mammals is the only true flying mammal. There are 42 species in the US. Bats are Leaf Miner Pests one of our most misunderstood and feared animals but it is probably the most beneficial of the animals to humans.
The Long-Legged Myotis is a medium size bat of the microchiroptera order. Most of these bats live in mostly coniferous forests, but also use old buildings, cracks in ground and cliff crevices as well as snags and hollow trees. In the winter they hibernate in old mines and caves. These bats range from around 5000 to 11,000 feet in altitudes and is another very hardy mammal.
The Long-Legged Myotis are usually in colonies of 2000-5000 individuals. As with most bats they have usually one birth in the summer.
